Palm Trees & Redwoods
In the suburban sprawl in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada’s, palm trees and redwoods stand side by side. Reaching for the heavens in a botanical stretch. This is the land where Cortical Clothing took root, amidst a landscape as unique as the community it serves.
One day a backyard meditation session turned into a moment of epiphany. As the contrasting foliage of a neighbor’s yard painted a picture of our cultural fabric. The jagged palm leaves, like a surfer’s unkempt hair, clashed with the disciplined, pointed pines of a redwood. As if Mother Nature herself had a sense of humor. It was a visual metaphor for the melting pot of Northern California – a place where different backgrounds, interests and styles exist together.
Initially, Cortical Clothing toyed with the idea of a logo that spoke of division – a palm and a redwood, standing apart. But as we meditated on the message we wanted to send, we realized that unity and connection were the threads we wished to weave into our brand. The poppy, with its vibrant hue and resilience, became our emblem, symbolizing the harmony we yearn for in our community.
Yet, the image of the palm and the redwood has not been forgotten. It serves as a reminder that diversity is our strength. And, like these trees, we can stand tall together. Our clothing is a tribute to this belief, crafted for those who traverse the trails and the urban jungles alike.
So, as you wear your Cortical gear, remember the palm and the redwood. Let them inspire you to reach out. To blend the lines that divide. And to nurture the bonds that unite. Because in the end, it’s not just about the clothes we wear.. but the message we carry.
