In the heart of Northern California, nested in the foothills of the Sierras, there’s a place we call home. Where the unique landscape and sunny weather has historically matched the upbeat vibe of everyday life. But unfortunately, we do recognize that lately, our beloved NorCal feels a bit more like a scene from a dystopian novel than the vibrant cultural mosaic we know and love.

You see, we’ve dubbed these times the “brackish waters” – an era where everyone is in a hurry. Everyone has some core belief that places them against others. And everyone has heard a poorly executed joke of why “California sucks.” It’s as if the Golden State has lost a bit of its shine, or that people are too busy to enjoy it. The California vibe we’ve known for decades has has been dampened. But we at Cortical believe in change. And that a symbol of unity can bring it back to this beautiful place. A floral, orange symbol of unity. 

Throughout history, symbols have been the silent heralds of unity. The peace sign, the dove (unless its “Mars Attacks!”), and the iconic smiley of the '70s – each one a beacon calling the like-minded to rally. That’s where our poppy and peaks come in. They’re not just a logo; they’re a symbol of resilience. A nod to the natural beauty that surrounds us. And a high-five to the spirit of uniting together.
